Peña Malaguista de San Pedro pays homage to Miguel Zambrana
Miguel Zambrana, kit manager for more than 30 years, received the beautiful tribute in San Pedro de Alcántara.
If anyone can be thought of as a ‘man of the Club’, it’s Miguel Zambrana, a kit manager for 30 years and still at Málaga CF’s service. As such, the Peña Malaguista de San Pedro de Alcántara paid tribute to Miguel Zambrana on Wednesday evening, to mark the supporters’ club’s 15th anniversary.
“I’m very grateful to the Peña de San Pedro de Alcántara. I’ve never been at the forefront, always in second or third place, but it’s an honour and great satisfaction”,says Miguel. For his part, the man responsible for presenting the distinction, Antonio Ruiz, president of the Peña, said the accolade goes to a hard-worker, with nobody more deserving than Miguel Zambrana. A view echoed by former player, Juan José Almagro: “He’s such an important person for a Club, any player will agree with me”, he affirmed.
The kit manager was surrounded by his family – including his son, the third generation of ‘Zambranas’ at the Club - as well as Málaga CF adviser, Francisco Martín Aguilar and former Atlético Malagueño (first team) and MCF player, Juan José Almagro.
