Recio: “The cold affects you before the match, but once it’s started you forget it”

The Blue and Whites central defender, Recio, spoke to the media today, Friday, in the Ciudad de Málaga press room.

Recio’s statements

Cold snap
This week’s been a little longer and litter colder but we’re training to the max in order to get a good result on Monday.  The cold affects you the most before the match, but once it’s started you forget about the cold and you focus on the game.”

Granada-Málaga
“We know that they’re a team (Granada) which has changed their manager and is coming from an important win against Betis; it’ll be a difficult match and we hope to go out with the same focus and aggression that we had on Sunday.  We’re under a bit of pressure in the sense that we’ve come from a bad patch of not winning; now we need to get a few straight wins, we’re prepared for it, and that would give us a big boost.  The other day with the Sevilla match we brought joy to the fans and now if we do things properly we can do it again.”

Personal situation
“I’m always excited, firstly to be called-up and if the coach decides that I have to play I’m prepared to give it my all.  Now I’m a lot more comfortable because what one wants is to play in order to get minutes and have continuity and the momentum of matches.  Well, physically I’m getting better all the time and the minutes help me get this rhythm of competition that I want.  I’m enthused and feeling strong about having minutes in this second leg, which is want I want.”

Nominated for the Draft ’12 Awards
“We’re all (Juanmi, Isco, Iván, Samu and him) are players form the home side.  They’re great players, players that come out of the Málaga youth teams are always good.  It’s an honour that there are five nominated for this prize as it shows that the youth division is doing things properly.  I had the opportunity to enjoy the gala last year and it was a lovely experience.”
