Fight, commitment, sacrifice, quality, fellowship and endless qualities that define what Recio represents to Málaga CF and Malaguismo. The Blue and Whites’ captain was named by fans at the peña in Archidona as the best player of last season, and was presented with the ‘Malaguista of the Year’ 2016/17 award, by president of the peña, David Córdoba.
The Málaga-born midfielder, welcomed by more than 150 people on his arrival in Archidona, signed autographs and took photos with fans in attendance, before receiving his weight in oil, 79 litres of liquid gold, courtesy of the Dcoop cooperative.
Willy Caballero, Camacho, Kameni and Juanpi, amongst others, have all stepped on the scales in previous seasons. All of them recognised by the Archidona peña.
Club adviser, Francisco Martín Aguilar, who accompanied the footballer on his visit to Archidona, presented the president of the peña with a Málaga CF jersey signed by Recio, and thanked fans for their support.
