The provincial derby was dominated at the start by the Blue and Whites, generating various clear goal opportunities in the first half against a tactically neat rival. However, the Torremolinos-based side knew how to take advantage of their best chance before half-time to go in front with a goal from Amaya (0-1, 45’).
In the second half, with patience and greater physical vigour, Malagueño imposed their football to turn the scoreboard around. Jaime Moreno, not long after he left the bench, made the most of a great assist by Iván Rodríguez to go level (1-1, 69’).
In the final stages of play, quality finisher, Jack Harper appeared. The Scottish striker scored the second goal with a superb left-footer (2-1, 77’) and sealed victory with an unstoppable header (3-1, 80’).
Following Almería B’s defeat at home against UD San Pedro, Ruano’s boys recover the top spot in the league with 27 points out of a possible 30. Next Sunday the Malaguistas will welcome Linares Deportivo to the Federación Malagueña at 12:00.
