This special match corresponds to the 37th match of Third Division Group 9, taking place at a different location. La Rosaleda stadium was witness to Atlético Malagueño’s last home game of the regular season.
Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani greeted every player in the dressing room, encouraging them before the match, as another member of the team. The Club President watched the game from the authorities’ box in the ‘Tribuna Alta’ section of the stadium, along with his sons and Blue and Whites’ Board members, Nayef and Rakan Al Thani. Also watching the match from the box were sports director, Francesc Arnau; first team coach, Javi Gracia; first team captain, Duda; as well as Club advisers, Abdullah Ben Barek and Antonio Fernández Benítez, amongst other members of the organisation.
The Malaguista reserve team defeated the Jaén-based rival by 2-0. Mula, with two fantastic goals (6’ and 58’) secured the three points, keeping Malagueño in the running for the group top spot with Atlético Mancha Real (both with 83 points). In the next match, Ruano’s men will close the regular league season away to River Melilla.
At the end of the match, Sheikh Al Thani visited the Blue and Whites’ dressing room again to congratulate the young players, who are fighting for promotion to the bronze division of Spanish football for another season.
