La Academia - Summer Camp

Play like your idols at the MCF Camp!

The MCF Experience will again cover a large part of the province so that the campmates can learn from the methodology of one of the best youth ranks in Spain, the MCF Academy.

Like every year, hundreds of young players aged between 5 and 15 enjoyed the MCF Camp during the school holidays. The Camp was presented today at La Rosaleda together with the mayors of the localities of Cuevas Bajas -Manuel Lara-, Villanueva del Rosario -Juan González- and Pizarra -Félix Francisco Lozano-.

When does the MCF Camp kick off?

The first session will take place in Semana Blanca, when the Camp moves to Manilva, Pizarra and Cuevas Bajas. Over Easter, the Camp will be held in Benahavís and Villanueva del Rosario.

The main new aspect of this edition of the MCF Camp is that over Easter a Camp will be held in Málaga capital, just for female players, with a very reduced price thanks to support from the provincial government, as sponsor.

Following Semana Blanca and Easter, the most popular Camp will take place over summer. Over a three-week period, the youngest players can enjoy intensive training sessions, allowing them to improve their footballing skills. They’ll also be training with the same coaches as homegrown players Iván Rodríguez, Ruth Acedo, Jack Harper and María Farfán.

Statements by Sports Councillor, Cristóbal Ortega

“For another year I would like to thank the Club for its predisposition with the Diputación as well as its commitment to the towns throughout the province. We want to take Malaguismo to the province and for the youngsters to experience Malaguismo up close. This year we’ve got something new, we’re going to have a Camp exclusively for girls over Easter in Málaga capital, and they will take centre stage. I hope everyone will be pleased. We don’t just want Málaga to be the team of the city. Málaga is also from the province, as there are many fans who travel to the stadium match after match to support Málaga. We want Málaga to continue opening up the province. Our objective is for the entire province to support Málaga CF”.

Sebastián Fernández, head of the social department of the MCF Foundation

“I’ve been working with the Camp for a long time, this is the fifth year. It’s a lovely experience on a personal level and it always goes very well in summer, as well as Semana Blanca and Easter. Teaching the children to play as a team and conveying the values of sport from the MCF Foundation. We’re delighted to be travelling around the province because the Diputación always supports us, which is something we love. We encourage the boys and girls to sign up”.
