The Malaguista coach held a press conference in La Rosaleda’s press room today. “We know that we have to give our best version. We are focused, we know our duty and we are self-critical,” he said.
Time change to 12:00
“Yesterday we trained in the afternoon and tomorrow we were going to train in the afternoon. We found out today. Tomorrow we’ll change the work plan and train in the morning. From there, we’ll be focused on the game, which is the most important thing beyond what has happened. I cannot enter into what doesn’t depend on us.”
Very important to win at home
“We need to be strong at La Rosaleda. We have had three games in front of our fans which ended in three draws. Our objective of securing the playoff, and promotion, goes through La Rosaleda. We know that we have to give our best version. The first thing is to win, and then try to reach the last stage as best as possible. We are focused, we know our duty and we are self-critical.”
A rival with clear ideas
“We’ll be up against a team that has played against those the top teams, Castellón, Ibiza and Córdoba, and in some they won and in others they drew. It shows that this is a rival with clear ideas. They are a practical team that perform very well. They handle the second play very well and are very vertical.”
Team-fans connection is key
“To get as far as we can this month, which is one of the most important in recent years for Málaga, the best way to get there is for us, the professionals, to give the fans those victories to reach those decisive moments with energy. We have to transmit that energy from the beginning of the season to the fans. I trust the group, the team is training very well. The unity of the group is the key.”
All for one
“I recognise the support of the group. We have a very transparent relationship. Both at the group level and at the individual level, we say things to each other's faces, looking each other in the eyes. Knowing when to praise and when to be critical, we always seek improvement. I see they’re working hard and I realise they’re giving their all. There is a very big responsibility. They give me a lot of strength, they are the energy that charges my battery.”
