Press conference
Pellicer: “The players have a heart, and it beats very loudly”

The Blue and White coach held a press conference following the win at Carranza: “It’s a victory that must be dedicated to the fans, the players and the people at the Club”, he stated.

Victory

“Accumulating two victories helps you believe more, to get out of these situations little by little – move away from the relegation zone. Above all we did it away to the league leaders, a solid team with whom we have an historic rivalry. We did a great job and did many things well. We need to make the most of the good we did today, and the most important thing is we saw the players have heart, and that heart beats very loudly. It’s a victory that must be dedicated to the fans, the players and the people at the Club who make our day to day much easier”.

Final suffering and contained joy

“Coming here to play against Cádiz, with that solidity, it was textbook – suffering at the end – and they showed that it’s very hard to do them any damage. The stats show they are the team to score the most points in the final minutes. For my part, I contained my joy and congratulated the players, as since we arrived, they’ve been so determined. We also remember those who aren’t here, which creates a healthy competition to benefit Málaga CF”.

One third of the competition remaining

“We need to think about how difficult this category is and scoring points every weekend. There’s such a long way to go and we’re going to work hard from tomorrow to focus on next Sunday’s important match. In football you move quickly from hero to villain, but today is an immense joy for the fans. Coaches are here to help, but it’s the players who must believe, of that I’m very clear and we must take each step at a time”.
