Adrián: “It’s a team victory, for a united team”

The Malaguista captain, who scored the winning goal against Cádiz from the penalty spot, appeared in the mixed zone at the Ramón de Carranza: “With the new rule the penalty takers can make the most of it”.

Union and strength

“We competed very well during the entire match against a tough rival. We suffered in the end as they went all out in search of an equaliser, but we deserved victory. We conveyed what we’ve been doing in training all week, and luckily things turned out well and we again showed the strength and unity of this team”.

Competitiveness

“There were situations that were right for us and despite the victory there are things we need to improve on. In the end we lost possession a few times, but we made up for it by competing and defending well”.

Another goal from the penalty spot

“The more penalties you take the more difficult it is. The goalkeepers get to know you, he held on, as did I, to see how he moved; now the goalkeepers have a harder job with the new rule and the penalty takers can make the most of it”.

Another step forward

“We’re now facing a direct rival at home, which is an important opportunity for us to continue climbing up the table and moving forward. Two wins on the bounce and hopefully next Sunday will make three. It’s about continuing to score points”.

Fans

“Thank you to all my teammates. It’s a team victory, for a united team, against a tough rival. It’s great to have that satisfaction at such a difficult ground, in the face of that rivalry. The fans are another player to us and almost part of the dressing room. It’s essential that they’re supporting us and showing that union with the team”.
