Pellicer: There are no words for our fans

Sergio Pellicer held a press conference this Sunday afternoon following the Primera Federación matchday 5 fixture, in which Málaga CF defeated Linares Deportivo: “We know that difficult moments are going to come, but it is much better to start like this, it gives us a great deal of energy.”

A long way to go

“We’re five games in. We are improving and it is true that the results are important with the demands we have, but there’s a long way to go yet. We need a lot of calm and a lot of caution. This has just begun and, seeing the results, I think it’s going to be tough. The most important thing is that the lads are gaining self-esteem, they are gaining confidence, knowing that we have many things to improve on.”

Thank you, Linares

“We congratulate Linares for their initiative, which I believe is a twinning between two fans. It made us feel at home here. There are few clubs that do it. Thank you.”

Close-knit Malaguistas

“I like that, although we are making few changes, those who come off the bench and those who do not participate do a superb job. Everyone is going to have their moment, the changes are going to be constant. The most important thing is the shield. We’ll analyse the game with the players to see the constant improvement that we have to continue and take steps forward. Little by little.”

Fans = 10 out of 10

“There are no words for our fans. They are incredible. Thanks to Linares for providing the tickets and facilities. We’re on matchday 5 and 2,000 fans were cheering us on. The next one against San Fernando again… This generates excitement. We know that difficult times are going to come, but it is much better to start like this, it gives us a great deal of energy. Above all, for the people, who spend their money and invest in the feeling. We cannot fail in terms of effort.”

A demanding season

“It's going to be very long. We’ve had four wins on the bounce and have been looking at how the standings are. There are teams that are competing very well, and this can change at any moment. It’s a very long and demanding season. We are going to have some difficult months. After the Castellón game it seemed like the world was going to end. You have to be calm. We’re happy for the boys and the people who came here, they deserve the win.”
