“The moment a player is included in the team line-up, is because he’s match fit. Yes, he can spend time with the others and come to the hotel, but if he’s on the list it means he’s ready to play football. Baptista is a very important member of the team, and it’s just been very unfortunate that he’s been injured for so long. However now we’re hoping he’s completely recovered, and will return to his usual form as he continues playing.”
“Like every League match, this one will be tough, with a determined expectancy to win from both sides. Zaragoza are in an uncomfortable position in the League and will be playing every ball like it’s their last. Manolo Jiménez always instils a lot of character in the team, so we’re prepared for a difficult match, and focused on not making any mistakes from set pieces.”
“I think it’ll take some time to get used to such an early kick-off. We’re not used to playing a match so early in the day, but we’ll soon learn!”
“Monreal’s departure is unfortunate for the team, as he was a very significant, highly-skilled player in the squad. However that’s the reality of the situation that the Club is currently in, and there’s no hiding it. The option came at the very last minute, and was something the Club couldn’t resist. I understand that we need to rectify the financial problems, as there’s a lot of pressure from all sides, but there’s no doubt that Monreal’s exit will affect the team.”
“With regards to the new players, the arrival of Lugano and Lucas was important as we needed players for these positions. Following Nacho’s departure, we signed Antunes and Pedro Morales, the final additions to the team after Diego Buonanotte’s exit.”
