Monreal: “There’ll be another ‘Malaguista’ in London”

Former Málaga CF and new Arsenal player, Nacho Monreal, says goodbye to the fans and the Club during his visit to Málaga, after a season and a half.

“Everything happened so quickly that I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to my teammates, the fans or you, the media.  I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the last year and a half which really has been amazing.  I’ve always felt like I belonged here and was made very welcome from the start, and I couldn’t leave without saying goodbye to the fans properly, and thank them for their amazing support.  I’m really happy with the move, but at the same time I wish Málaga the very best and the Club will always be in my heart.  I’m leaving behind some great friends, but I’ll follow the Club from London.”

“It all moved so fast.  On the 31st I was told about the possibility of going to London, the offer was accepted and the next day I arrived and was playing a match.  I’m so pleased to come back here though to thank the ‘Malaguismo’ for making the past season and a half so amazing, I just couldn’t go without saying goodbye.”

“I’d like to thank everyone for the time I’ve spent here, the friendships I’ve made, everyone at the Club and the fans for making me feel so at home.  I thank you all and now there’ll be another ‘Malaguista’ in London.”

“I’m going to miss Málaga a lot to be honest.  It was a great experience for me, both personally and from a sporting point of view.  I’m taking away some wonderful memories.”
