Málaga CF, via its Foundation and with the collaboration of the Diputación de Málaga, have kicked off the ninth season of ‘Blue and White Values’ at La Rosaleda, with CEIP Lope de Vega in Coín as the special guest.
The MCF Foundation’s values campaign is now in its ninth year with the same enthusiasm as always, or more if possible. This Thursday La Rosaleda Stadium hosted the first activity of the 22/23 season, receiving a visit from the Lope de Vega school.
The students from the Coín-based school cheered on the lads at the start of training for Pepe Mel's team in the Annexe. They then visited the Museum & Tour within the stadium that ended in the 'Juan Cortés' press room at La Rosaleda. Around 12:30, 'Málaga, la Bombonera' resounded throughout the room and 'Super Boke' joined the party to the delight of the children. The Blue and White mascot is sponsored by our friends at Sanamar Alimentación.
The Diputación Provincial de Málaga sponsors ‘Blue and White Values’ this year. In attendance were Cristóbal Ortega, Provincial Deputy for the Environment and Sports at the Diputación; Borja Vivas, Sports Director at the Diputación; accompanied by Francisco Santos, Mayor of Coín. On behalf of the Club were José María Muñoz, president of the MCF Foundation; Protocol and Institutional Relations adviser, Francisco Martín Aguilar; sporting director, Manolo Gaspar; Duda, head of the MCF Academy; and Alicia Fuentes, coordinator of Málaga CF Femenino.
The big moment of the day came with the traditional talk on Blue and White Values and the subsequent question-and-answer session by the students. This time around, Malaguista captains Luis Muñoz and Ruth Acedo were present, along with Silvia and Carlos from Málaga Genuine.
Respect, camaraderie, humility, teamwork, healthy eating habits, caring for the environment... In short, educating the future on these values. This was conveyed in their speeches by Cristóbal Ortega and Francisco Santos to the pupils, who acted as journalists for a day. Luis Muñoz, for example, was asked what his daily routine is like. “I’m very much a family man, I like to spend time with my wife, my daughter, my parents… and rest well to play sports,” he commented. Ruth, meanwhile, explained the importance of studying by citing her own example. “Since I was a little girl, my passion has been football. Playing sports is very important for our health. I finished studying nursing, knowing that without education, I couldn’t achieve anything.”
Following the talk, everyone featured in a group photo posing with the 'Blue and White Values' poster. Season number nine is underway!
