Press conference
Natxo González: “We must play each match like it’s the last”

The Málaga CF coach held a press conference in the lead-up to #RealSociedadBMálaga. “The first victory will come with hard work, and we hope it’ll be tomorrow,” he said.

Regarding the rival, “you see them play and it’s the opposite of their position in the standings. They’ll be raring to go and full of self-confidence, they are the best team physically in the division,” said Naxto who considers that “we must play each match as if there were no tomorrow, like it’s the last.”

“We work hard all week to get to the weekend and win our game. The first victory will come with hard work, and we hope it’ll be tomorrow.” In regard to the defensive aspect, the coach is clear: “We’re on the right track with our first objective, which is to stop conceding so many goals. Now the focus is on maintaining a level of consistency in defence and spending more time improving our attack.”

The coach from Vitoria is implementing his footballing ideas. “The idea I have is clear. In terms of the ‘artists’, some will be repeated, others won’t. I always give things a great deal of thought until the last minute, particularly for certain positions. The differences aren’t huge, anyone could play. The idea is clear to me,” he commented.

Natxo confirmed the return of Chavarría to the squad list and the absence of Juande due to physical problems. He concluded his press conference referring to Víctor Gómez: “He has to bring more depth and reach the area, just like the left-back. There’s a lot of room for improvement.”
