Muñiz: “The lads are raring to go; determined for the three points”

Málaga CF coach, Juan Ramón López Muñiz held a press conference in the run-up to the match against Nàstic de Tarragona: “Everything is wide open, and we have to go there and win the game”.

Spirits are up

“It’s important that everyone’s spirits are up as they are fighting for all the good that can be achieved. We know of the difficulty of the situations and how tight it is, we’ve known that since June. These are situations that all teams in the category experience and we’re going to continue taking each match at a time and follow the same line”.

Match against Nàstic de Tarragona

“It would be perfect. We’re going there in search of the three points and I believe we must be optimistic in regard to the team. We’ve had a run of draws, but the rivals cannot easily defeat us. We’re going to experience every situation that will arise during the season, so we must be able to adapt. The team is maintaining an important level of consistency. We haven’t got here by chance. Following relegation, the season is long and difficult, which is something the team is overcoming. We have to get the team back to the top, which is what we’re trying to do. The lads are standing up to rivals. We need to focus on each match at a time, and now the focus is on Nástic. We’re not looking beyond that”.

LaLiga 1|2|3: very changeable

Everything is wide open, and we have to go there and win the game. If you looked at the changes from last season, you’d be amazed. There’s a lot left to play for, but I’m not thinking about what will happen in June, I’m concentrating on the match against Nàstic. We need to have an accumulation of points to see if they permit us to fight for a series of objectives. The team is ready to compete to bring joy and be happy. The rival also has a lot at stake, but we’re going there to play our match and do what we do best, which is compete”.

Pacheco and Ontiveros

“As it stands, they are recovering without any problems and are re-incorporating into the group. We’re very optimistic about Dani and Ontiveros”.

Final stretch of the competition

“We’re reaching the end at full speed, this doesn’t stop, which we’re seeing in all situations and in regard to the level of importance we give everything, for the good and bad. We need to remain calm and keep working hard, as thoughts always go to June, but it’s only March. The end is in sight, but we need to focus on the present, and the present is the upcoming match. I’m enjoying the season a great deal as the team has been able to overcome a tough blow, has showed a high level of consistency throughout the year and the sensations are very good. Staying calm means working calmly at the maximum possible pace”.
