The Málaga CF coach held a press conference two days before #SportingMálaga: “It’s a difficult match against a good team, with a great crowd and a great stadium”.

“We’re facing this game in the normal way, as we would any other. There is no cause for regret. The team will compete and work hard. We’re going there determined to bring the three points back to Málaga”.
Difficult match
“It will be a match against a team needing to climb up the standings and with a necessity for points. It’s not a serious situation looking from the outside. The need for points exists there as they haven’t scored three points for quite a few matches. We’re aware of how tough it’s going to be, but that’s the same with any game we play. If I ask you who we’ll be facing in two weeks, when you tell me the name, we’ll say it’ll be a difficult game. This is another one. It’s a difficult match against a good team, with a great crowd and a great stadium. We’ll try to play a good game to bring the points home, but we know there’s a good team we’re up against who will be trying to do the same”.
Long-term
“We have to focus on the reassurance that this is long-term. It’s a situation of regularity, which we’ll try to maintain. One of the things the season requires is calm and good work. I believe the team is competing well, which we must keep up. This gives me hope for the future. It’s important to maintain the enthusiasm, hunger and strength on the field of play so that, in the long-term, throughout the remaining months of the competition, we can achieve important objectives for the Club and the fans”.
His home
“I'm going back to my city where I lived with my parents and my family is there. When you return to the place you were born, where you grew up, if you don’t feel something special, you’d be made of stone. I worked at that ground for many years and, before working, the stands were my usual environment from about 7 or 8 years of age until I was 21 and was able to play. It’s something special. ‘Brujo’ Quini is greatly missed, as he was a person who was always there to greet you at your hotel and would solve any problems. I will miss him a great deal. This situation also has special emotion, but everything is put to one side when we go out on the pitch. You try to win and take the match forward. Memories and the past must never be forgotten. I’m a person that believes you must be grateful in life, and Sporting gave me many things, both professionally and personally. If I have values, for better or worse, I have achieved everything based on what I was taught in football school. I take this opportunity to thank all the coaches I had over the years at that school”.
