Munir: “We have to follow the same line at home”

It was Malaguista goalkeeper Munir Mohand’s turn to hold a press conference today at the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room at La Rosaleda. “Numancia is a team that competes well and will make things difficult for us”, he says about his former team.

Time in Numancia

“I spent four seasons with Numancia, and there are a lot of people I have a lot of love for there. This is an important match for Málaga, three points we’ll need to compete and work hard for, and we’re determined to do so”.

Strong at home

“Seeing the team at the top of the standings gives you confidence and helps prepare the week. After the defeat we have time to get ready for this match, forget the one before and learn from our mistakes. We know that this league is very tight, highly demanding and this week at home against Numancia we have to follow the same line and try our best to win the three points”.

Next rival

“They are a team of players who arrive well on the wings, with very quick transitions upfront and on the wing. A team that competes well, and every year shows they’re a humble side that plays good football and I’m certain will make things difficult for us”.

LaLiga 1|2|3’s player of the month for September

“It’s a recognition of hard work and effort, particularly after a difficult year last year, coming here and feeling comfortable and important to the team, enjoying my time on the pitch, it’s a reward for all of that. I’m very grateful to my teammates for helping me to win this individual award, which is also for the group”.

Solidarity with the province

“It says a lot about the Club and how involved it is with this city. It’s a very big act of solidarity from the Club, and we as players also want to do our bit this weekend by buying tickets, so all the money raised goes to those people who need it the most. The players and coaching team will be purchasing tickets to help those affected”.
