Munir: “It’s a crucial game, that’s how we’re facing it”

The Malaguista goalkeeper attended to the media in the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room at La Rosaleda: “We need to score the three points against the direct rival that is Extremadura UD”.

Work and strong mentality, the keys

“We believe we have a great squad, very competitive. Of course, it’s smaller than we’d like, but it’s highly competitive and we’d like to be much higher up the table. The current situation is what it is, and we must accept it, particularly to compete and get out of this position. We need to work hard, knowing where we are, that’s what will lead us to victories”.

High level of concentration

“Since the beginning of the season, the team has been responding and getting back up from each knock in order to try to improve. We achieved that in the last two matches, we were very focused, kept a clean sheet and on a personal note it gives me confidence”.

Three very important points

“The upcoming two matches are vital for us. Of course, the first job is to focus on Extremadura, which will be a tough game, away from home and against a very difficult rival. We need to go there with the bit between our teeth as it’s a crucial game for us. That’s how we’re facing it, with the necessity to score three points against a direct rival. The team has been working hard all week, we’ve been preparing well. We cannot wait for this match and to win the three points. The team knows there’s a great deal at stake and that’s how we’ll go out there on Sunday”.

The fans are the main drive

“Sincerely speaking, we have the most wonderful fans. In the good times and the bad, they are always with us and I will never forget that demonstration. We work as hard as we can to earn the points for ourselves and for our fans who have supported us from the start. We owe them for all their effort”.
