Mikel ends his tour in the USA with another draw

Mikel Villanueva was again in the starting line-up for Venezuela’s second consecutive match in the USA, ending in a 1-1 draw with Ecuador.

The Malaguista defender, wearing the number ‘3’ shirt, played as a left-winger in the ‘Vinotinto’ defence, in the Ecuador-Venezuela friendly held last night at the FA Football Stadium in Florida (USA). Mikel, who with an own goal put Ecuador on the scoreboard after 29 minutes of play, was substituted by his teammate, Osorio in minute 68 of the second half. Venezuela’s Moreno, in minute 43 scored the definitive 1-1.

Mikel has accumulated 158 minutes in two matches with Venezuela on their tour of the United States, in preparation for the South American qualifiers for the forthcoming Russia World Cup in 2018.
