Lack of passion
“We lacked passion, we played any which way which is something I cannot allow. The team has enough responses to play a different type of game. I know it’s difficult to move the players after the effort they’ve made to reach salvation, or almost to the point of salvation, but we can’t play the game we played here today. Responsibility
“At the moment, when things are still heated, the message has to be conveyed in a more tranquil manner, although I have to say things as I see them. What I say in a press conference is more or less what I say to the players. Perhaps the coach hasn’t prepared the week well enough, or the system of play, but there are circumstances in a match that must be addressed individually with the player. The one responsible is the coach, but the coach doesn’t like to see that. If the person responsible is the coach, this has to change”.
Reduction in tension
"Following the victory against Barça, I was enthusiastic that the team would win this week. I can’t consent to this lack of tension, because although we’re not at risk, we are before a Club and have a fan base that deserve more, as they’ve suffered a lot this season”.
I’m not a conformist
“Amongst all the lower-placed teams we’ve been somewhat conformist because the ones at the bottom haven’t been earning points. We won at El Molinón, and it seems that made the possibilities clear to everyone. This won’t do, I’m not a conformist and everything I do I try to do with tension and passion”.
