Míchel: “The team needs to believe in what they do”

The Málaga CF coach analyses the draw in a press conference: “There was a great deal of tension and equality, we were on the brink of scoring a goal in any one of the final actions”.

Better second half

“I think in the first half we lacked conviction somewhat, whereas in the second half we were better. The changes helped. We had more possession and struggled less at the back. In the second half we definitely improved. There was a great deal of tension and equality, and we were on the brink of scoring a goal in any one of the final actions”.

Maintaining a clean sheet

“I think we lacked calm with the ball. We gave it away. The feeling is that in the first half, Leganés created more danger. Keeping a clean sheet is good news as it allows you to grow”.

Stability in gameplay

“We understood that it was going to be a duel of second plays and maintaining ball possession. This was seen more in the second half. The changes helped us to have more stability in play and focus on moving up”.

Responsibility

“The team needs to believe in what they do. Almost always, the coach focuses on what he sees during the week, and it’s tough for us to bring out our strengths. The players know the responsibility they have, but this responsibility must be positive. I think we defended better in the second half, and went much deeper”.
