Michael Santos opened the new Peña Malaguista in Nerja on Thursday, in front of over a hundred fans. “I’m delighted to be here at this inauguration. Nerja is a beautiful place, I would recommend it to everyone”, affirms the first team player.
President of the peña, Alberto Narváez was thrilled at Santos’ presence at the inauguration: “We were very keen to open a supporters’ club in Nerja. Numerous Malaguistas came together and we were able to make it work. We’ve had a wonderful time with Santos. The goal he scored in the victory against Sporting de Gijón was amazing”.
Distance is no barrier to the unconditional support of fans who come to La Rosaleda to cheer on their team every weekend. “It’s essential that, despite so many kilometres between us, the fans come to support the team. The players really appreciate it”, says the Málaga CF striker.
Santos took part in an autograph signing at the peña before the inauguration took place. At the end of the event, the footballer presented the president of the supporters’ club with an official shirt, and Santos was given a gift basket bearing local produce in return.
