MCFF will find out their Copa de la Reina rival this Friday
Málaga CF Femenino will be competing in the Spanish Championship / Copa de S.M. la Reina. The draw for the first round of the tournament will take place this Friday 24th September.
The format of the Copa de la Reina 21/22 will feature six knock-out rounds and the grand final, all being a single match. There will be 16 winning teams from the first round, who will go on to the second round.
In total 48 clubs will be taking part in this tournament. All those who played last season in Liga Iberdrola, Reto Iberdrola and the champions of the Primera Nacional Femenina promotion stage.
The first round will have 31 teams competing, five in group A and 26 in Group B. Málaga CF are in Group A together with CF Pozuelo de Alarcón, UD Collerense, Club Peluquería Mixta Friol and UD Aldaia CF. There will be 15 matches and one exempt team that will go directly through to the next round.
The matches will be held at the facilities of the teams that belong to a lower division, and if they compete in the same division, the priority will be given to the team that is drawn first.
The first round of the Copa de la Reina will be held between 6th and 7th October 2021.
