MCF-TV interviews Joaquín Sánchez

The Cádiz-born Joaquín Sánchez, who joins Málaga Football Club for the 2011/12 season, spoke to Málaga CF-TV ahead of the forthcoming first home game at La Rosaleda.

(Ambitious project): “I think that what Málaga is experiencing now is something that all ‘Malagueños’ have always dreamt of.  Before us we have a great challenge and an important responsibility; we know that Málaga fans want us to win and be amongst the best.  That’s the team’s hope too, but it’s not plain sailing, it’s all about hard work.  Things are going well as we look for a philosophy of play and a clear coaching strategy.  We’re going to enjoy the team’s first victory, which we hope will be on Monday, as we start rolling out Pellegrini’s idea of football.”

(European aim): “It’s an important challenge to get Málaga CF to be amongst the best teams in Europe.  It’s clear that all of us in the team carry this responsibility inside us after the massive effort that’s been made by the Club’s bosses.  With a warm heart and focused mind, we know we have a great team but now we have to show it.  It’s going to be a complicated year, but the team has many quality experienced and younger players.”

(Adaption): “There was a great group and we’ve been able to adapt well; the city is perfect.  The important thing is now to begin to roll out our project and that the team starts to feel at ease.”

(Granada):  “You always like to play against such teams, because they’ve been promoted to the First Division, and because it’s another Andalusian team.  I think there’ll be a fantastic atmosphere and there’ll be some great football.  We hope that we start winning and there are good vibes.  We’ve had a good preseason and Monday will be an important game as we try and make everyone leave happy with some great football – and above all with a victory!”
