“It’s important that the presidency is here with us, as more fans.  They have been very close, which is great for us”; says coach, Manel Ruano at the end of the game.  Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani accompanied Atlético Malagueño during their first promotion play-off, and shared, minute by minute, the run-up, development of the match and post-play, with the young players and coaching team.

The Club President greeted the members of the Peña ‘Los 300’ de Barcelona at the Vilafranca Municipal ground, who supported the reserve team throughout the 90 minutes.  He also entered the dressing room, just before kick-off, during the players’ ritual before stepping on to the pitch.

Following the goalless draw, the President was with the players at the end to encourage them in preparation for the return leg in Málaga in seven days’ time.  A very close support, backed up by Board member, Sheikh Nayef Al Thani; Club advisers, Abdullah Ben Barek and Francisco Martin Aguilar; and sports director, Francesc Arnau.
