Mathijsen: “Every time that we play away it’s our intention to win”
The Dutch central defender, Joris Mathijsen, spoke to the media this Thursday in the Ciudad de Málaga press room.
Mathijsen’s statements:
(MCF-Spartak). “I didn’t see the first half, I was in the gym, but I think these types of games are good for those players who play less.”
(Match in Bilbao). “Every time that we play away, our intention is the same, to win; it’ll not be an easy match even though they’re coming from playing away because they’re a strong team. We have a good opportunity to win and get back into the top six, but we’re just thinking about winning. At home we count on the support of the fans, it’s your stadium, you feel better, and away we have to have the same level of intensity, even though I do feel we have it.”
(Pairing with Weligton). “I think we did well, for me it was easier because I was playing in my position, for him it was more difficult. We all did well against Mallorca, but now we’re only thinking about doing well in Bilabo.”
(Cazorla). “He’s a player with great qualities and he quickly showed what he could do. He can decide matches; perhaps that’s what defines him the most. He’s a player with the national side and a great person.”
(Llorente). “He’s a great player, tall, and he’s going to give us problems, but that makes the game more interesting.”
