- Víctor Sánchez del Amo, Deportivo coach, has played the most Depor-Málaga matches in LaLiga (7), and along with Djalminha, scored the most goals (4).
- Velasco Carballo has refereed Málaga in Second B Division, against Betis B in 1996/97, and Lorca CF in 1997/98. He also officiated the Copa del Rey clash between Málaga-Hércules (2010/11), when Pellegrini made his Blue and Whites’ debut in the dugout, as did Recio on the pitch.
- When the League season came to an end in 1952/53, the CD Málaga coach, Helenio Herrera moved to Deportivo to coach the A Coruña side in the First Division promotion stage.
