Málaga are heading to A Coruña to face Deportivo on Saturday at Riazor, for the 28th LaLiga game of the season. Madrid-born Velasco Carballo will officiate the match, broadcast on La 1 (10:05 p.m.)
The Malaguistas are in 11th place in the table with 32 points, the same number of points as the 12th placed rival. In the first round clash held at La Rosaleda, also refereed by Velasco Carballo, Gracia’s team defeated Deportivo by 2-0, with goals from Tighadouini and Juankar. The last League clash held in A Coruña between these rivals ended in an historic victory for Málaga by 0-1, with a fantastic goal by Darder, the first win for MCF at Riazor in 12 games.

Víctor Sánchez del Amo, Deportivo coach, has played the most Depor-Málaga matches in LaLiga (7), and along with Djalminha, scored the most goals (4).
Velasco Carballo has refereed Málaga in Second B Division, against Betis B in 1996/97, and Lorca CF in 1997/98. He also officiated the Copa del Rey clash between Málaga-Hércules (2010/11), when Pellegrini made his Blue and Whites’ debut in the dugout, as did Recio on the pitch.
When the League season came to an end in 1952/53, the CD Málaga coach, Helenio Herrera moved to Deportivo to coach the A Coruña side in the First Division promotion stage.
CD Málaga player, Juan Arza (1942/43), was also a Deportivo de La Coruña coach. A similar case to Carlos Torres, who played for CD Málaga and was also a player and coach of Deportivo.
