Málaga-Sanse, kilometre 14

Málaga CF enjoyed another win at the fortress to end the first third of the competition. Three more points to reach the top 8 of the standings.

Today’s kilometre is packed full of positives. Vamos!

Roberto, in a higher dimension

The Prince of Puente Genil took two minutes to go level against Real Sociedad ‘B’, who took the lead with a goal from Sangalli in 7’. His textbook header into goal kicked off the comeback, his second goal as a professional player. The first, hopefully of many, at La Rosaleda. His footballing dimension grows with every minute he accumulates.

‘Pichichi’ Paulino

The dribbler from Cantabria sealed the definitive 2-1 win. His third goal of the season with Málaga CF, making him the team’s top scorer. And check this out, in stoppage time he could have scored his second goal of the game. Last season he scored a league goal with Logroñés, and has already tripled his record at the beginning of November.

Don Antonio Cortés Heredia

By profession, assistant. Antoñín enjoyed a great night and looked like that superb player from two seasons ago at Martiricos. He provided the assist from his preferred corner, on the left wing, where he strikes fear into rival defenders. Pure power. He assisted Roberto and Paulino in the two Malaguista goals and was rewarded with a place in the LaLiga SmartBank Ideal 11. You’re back, Antonio.

What a comeback!

We can now hit F5 and update an interesting stat. Until last night, Málaga CF’s last comeback in an official match was on 9th February 2020. It was also at home, against CD Numancia with a certain Alberto Escassi, who scored the 0-1. Sadiku and Adrián turned the result around to 2-1. A significant fact that shows the strength of the current MCF at the fortress.

Here’s to the first third

In football, as in life, there’s always room for improvement. Yet if we asked all Malaguistas if we should be two points from promotion playoff positions, the majority would say yes. The first third of the competition is over. The lads have 20 points, 17 of which were won at La Rosaleda, and a place in the top 8 of the standings. Here’s to winning away from home!
