José Alberto: "We have to take care of the details"

The Malaguista coach held a press conference at the Juan Cortés press room ahead of LaLiga SmartBank matchday 15.

José Alberto kicked off his press conference at the Juan Cortés press room by discussing tomorrow’s rival, FC Cartagena. “They are a combinative team that have varied the gameplay systems somewhat. They seek to progress through the ball, with players of great individual talent, and with one of the best strikers in the history of our football,” he affirmed.

During a week marked by a midweek fixture, the Malaguista coach highlighted the importance of the players’ rest. “There are teams that have a cycle of three matches in nine days, other in seven and others in six. The last two games we’ve played have been against teams who have had two more days of rest. This is the difference between having a complete recovery or arriving at the next game fatigued. I don’t want to make excuses, but it should be looked at a little more.” said the Asturian coach about the team's match calendar.

Talking about the difference of the team at La Rosaleda and away from home, José Alberto said: “They are small nuances. We have to stay focused, make fewer mistakes and be more forceful in the areas. We have to take care of the details and remain concentrated during the 95 or 100 minutes that the matches last.”

Following the end of the first third of the LaLiga SmartBank competition, José Alberto hopes to keep improving and make the most of the team dynamics. “This first third could have been better or worse, but the merits are of little use. The points are what counts.  I think we’re on a very good line, we’ve grown and are a recognisable team. We are improving, but we still have a lot to improve on,” said the Malaguista coach.
