Málaga reach the semi-finals of the Alevín National Tournament after defeating Mallorca (1-0)

Málaga’s Alevín Preferente is in the Alevín Blue-BBVA seven-a-side National Tournament semi-finals, after they defeated Mallorca (1-0), thanks to a goal from Ale in the second half.

The team, coached by Ernesto Terrón and Juan Carlos Cuevas, defeated Mallorca, who had made a great impression in the earlier stages, being the leaders of Group B.

There weren’t many opportunities to score for either team, despite distance shots from both sides in the first half.

A throw in, which landed at the feet of Juan Maria a few minutes into the second half, gave Ale a clear shot at goal, allowing the Blue and Whites to qualify for the semi-finals.

Málaga are now guaranteed to play two matches on Sunday morning.  The semi-final against Valencia takes place at 1:15 p.m.  If they win, they’ll face either Barcelona or Atlético de Madrid in the final.  If Málaga lose the semi, they’ll be playing another match to determine third place.
