Málaga finish fourth in the Alevín National Tournament

Málaga finish their fantastic performance in the 19th Alevín seven-a-side National Tournament, in fourth place. In their final match, they drew against Barcelona (1-1), and were only beaten by the Catalan side on penalties.

Both teams were looking to dominate the match from the beginning, but Málaga had the first clear chance to score following a pass from Juan María to Ale, who had a shot at goal.

However it was Barcelona who were first on the leader board, with a goal from Arnau in the 8th minute.

As the pressure had been lifted, both teams enjoyed the match, and showed an impressive attacking display, in what was a fairly balanced game.

Four minutes into the second half, and a distance shot from Juan Cruz to Ale, resulted in the Málaga equaliser.

With the score board at 1-1 after the 24 minutes, there followed a penalty shoot-out.  Málaga goalkeeper José Antonio, saved the first three shots.  However in the tie-break Barcelona scored, and José Antonio was unable to save the Barcelona penalty.

Ernesto Terrón’s team earned a very well-deserved fourth place, defeating teams such as Real Madrid, Betis and Real Sociedad in the group stage, and Mallorca in the quarter finals, with their only defeat being against Valencia.
