Málaga Femenino christen Cártama with their second victory (2-0)

The Blue and Whites achieved their second consecutive league win against Santa Teresa B, with goals from Paula and Sandra.

Málaga CF Femenino is on the up. Antonio Contreras’ team debuted at Cártama’s Municipal Ground with a 2-0 victory against Santa Teresa B, on matchday 2 of Segunda Division Nacional Group IV.

The Malaguistas dominated possession without any complications during the initial stages of play. Málaga Femenino imposed their rules on the pitch, and in minute 6, a foul in favour of Paula gave the international midfielder the opportunity to open the scoring with a superb free kick (1-0). The Blue and Whites continued to dominate, and a few minutes later, an individual display by Sheila came close to a goal, but the ball escaped over the net. Both sides were even, but the Malaguista defence was strong against the Santa Teresa attack. Dominance belonged to the locals, and at the half-time whistle the scoreboard remained at 1-0.

In the second half, Málaga came out with a solid attacking display, and a perfectly elaborated play by María Ruiz was declared offside by the referee. Contreras made some changes, taking off Janira and replacing her with Noelia in 67’. Shots at goals were shared between Sheila and Pamela, but despite the countless occasions, they were unable to surprise the Santa Teresa keeper. In minute 81, the coach again moved things around, substituting Pamela for Sandra. It couldn’t have gone better, as eight minutes later Encarni, facing the goal, launched a ball that was deflected by the goalkeeper, but Sandra took advantage of the clearance to increase the lead to 2-0, with the result staying the same at full time. This is Málaga Femenino’s second victory and the second time they kept a clean sheet.
