Málaga CF taking part in Carranza Cup

The team returns to training on 7th July and will compete in the 62nd Ramón de Carranza Cup the weekend of 13th and 14th August, with the participation of Atlético de Madrid.

The first dates of the Malaguista pre-season have been announced, beginning on 7th July in Málaga.  A pre-season where work will continue, and which has just been confirmed the Blue and Whites’ participation in the Ramón de Carranza Cup in Cádiz, the weekend of 13th and 14th August.

This is a greatly prestigious summer tournament in Spanish football, with host team, Cádiz CF competing, along with recent UEFA Champions League finalists, Atlético de Madrid, and a fourth team yet to be announced.

This will be the fourth time Málaga CF has participated in this Cup competition, the last time being the summer of 2011, along with Sporting Lisbon, Udinese Calcio and Cádiz CF. The other two occasions were in 2001 and 2003, and, curiously, the Malaguistas came second every time.

This summer Málaga CF will have another chance to lift the trophy, this year celebrating 62 years of history.
