“We knew the risk we had to take in order to turn the tie around in our favour. I think we started off well, and threw ourselves into the attack to try and get a goal as early as we could. We had some very good moments, but when the rival equalised so quickly it became an uphill struggle again. It’s a sad day. We didn’t perform well in the Cup, and that cannot be. It makes us angry to end the year like this, as there are no games coming up in the short-term to redeem ourselves. However, we’re professionals and know the difficulties there are in football. We must continue working hard to start the new year in the best way possible”.
Focus on 2017
“For me, the month of January is always the most difficult of the season. We’ll need to be ready for action and change our image. I hope each one of us has time over the Christmas break to disconnect, knowing what we have to do when we get back. We need to be solely focused on turning this situation around and working hard. There’s no other way”.
