Luis H: “We need a change of mind and recover for Sunday”

The Malaguista defender appeared in the mixed zone at Los Pajaritos: “It’s very tough to take as a victory would have done us the world of good”.

Lack of tension

“When you lose the tension in a match, these things happen. We allowed a corner and a free kick, and we didn’t defend them with the tension we were defending. These things happen, but it’s clear we can’t permit them to”.

Tough blow

“Without doubt it’s a tough blow for us as at 0-1 we had the match under control, but there’s no point maintaining tension in defence for 90 minutes, to lose track for one and a half minutes and concede two goals”.

Responsibility

“It’s not the responsibility of any one player or any one member of the coaching team. It’s everyone’s responsibility. We’re in a bad dynamic, with everything seeming like it’s such a struggle. Today would have been an important victory for us, even though it wasn’t LaLiga, it would have boosted morale. We can’t let a match get away from us like that in a minute and a half”.

Last two minutes

“When you stop doing what you’ve been doing for 90 minutes, it becomes clear. During these 90 seconds, the team played without tension. We conceded a corner and a free kick, the latter was absurd, and then we were incapable of defending in the same way we had for the 90 minutes”.

Message to fans

“We can’t ask the fans for any more, they’ve given their all since the start of the season. Since I’ve been here, I’ve seen an exemplary fan base, both in the good and bad times, and I’m certain they’ll continue backing the team. The only thing we want, both the fans and ourselves, is to move this situation forward, but we have to give more to the fans than they give to us”.

Change of mind

It’s very tough to take as a victory would have done us the world of good. In addition, we had the match on track by maintaining a clean sheet, but we couldn’t keep it up. We need a change of mind, recover and prepare for the upcoming match to claim three vital points against Celta”.
