Lacen completes the Málaga CF squad

French-Algerian midfielder, Medhi Lacen, who has extensive experience in LaLiga Santander, signs to the Malaguista squad until the end of the season.

Medhi Lacen, born in Paris on 15th March 1984, will complete the Málaga CF squad to face the second part of the season. The latest Blue and White signing, who has vast experience in the First Division, plays in the position of midfielder, and signs until the end of the current 2017/18 season.

Experience in LaLiga

Lacen has played more than 250 First Division games over nine seasons. He debuted with Deportivo Alavés in the 2005/06 campaign, and since then has played a key role in the three teams he’s been part of. He left the Basque Country side in 2008/09 to join Racing de Santander, where he was indisputable in midfield for three seasons.

He signed to Getafe CF in the 2011/12 season, and there he developed a large part of his sporting career, taking part in over 150 matches in LaLiga Santander.

Algeria national team

Lacen has 44 caps with Algeria and competed in two World Cups with the North African team. His team was knocked out of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa in the group stages. Then in Brazil in 2014, in which Lacen took part in the three group stage games, and the round of 16 against Germany, they were eliminated by the reigning champions.
