La Roja is coming to Málaga to face Costa Rica on Saturday 11th November, in an international preparatory match ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.
Málaga are celebrating. La Rosaleda stadium will again host a Spain match, over five years since the last time, 29th February 2012, with a clear win for Spain at Martiricos against Venezuela by 5-0.
Spain-Costa Rica will serve as a preparation for Julen Lopetegui’s team ahead of the World Cup, taking place in Russia next year. Costa Rica, with goalkeeper, Keylor Navas at the helm, will also be competing in the World Cup, after coming second in the central American CONCACAF qualifiers.
A revitalised, modern stadium
At more than 75 years old, the facilities at La Rosaleda have been gradually improving in recent years, becoming, thanks to a modern and efficient design, one of LaLiga’s international stadiums.
A benchmark in terms of form, together with the soul of the animated fans who fill the stands every weekend. Two incentives that make up a fantastic cocktail to welcome the national team, where, with his own light, Málagueño and ex-Malaguista, Isco Alarcón shines.
Spain’s eight precedents at Martiricos
21/02/1973: Spain 3-1 Greece (Germany World Cup qualifier 1974)
13/02/1980: Spain 0-1 German Democratic Republic (Friendly)
27/10/1982: Spain 1-0 Iceland (France Euro qualifier 1984)
