La Rosaleda is with Ukraine

Málaga CF, through its Foundation, shows its utter contempt of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, encouraging the people of Málaga and the Malaguistas to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people by going to #MálagaPonferradina.

Earlier today, taking advantage of first team coach Natxo González’s press conference, the Club and its Foundation presented to the media the initiatives planned for tomorrow in relation to Saturday’s match at La Rosaleda (21:00) between Malaga CF and SD Ponferradina.

Attending the press conference were MCF’s judicial administrator and president of the Board of Trustees of the Málaga CF Foundation, José María Muñoz, and the aforementioned Natxo González, who said during his speech: “We give a great deal of importance to winning and losing. But when we see such an atrocity, it makes you think. We concern ourselves with many insignificant things. This is important. From my position, we’ll help in any way we can. We are with Ukraine. We send all our strength.”

The action was led by the Blue and White Foundation coordinator, Lucas Rodríguez, who, on behalf of the Entity, showed his total outrage of Russia’s invasion and immense sadness for the many victims of this attack that has been ongoing for 15 days. “We want to express our disgust at the events happening in Ukraine. I would like to highlight the solidarity of Malaguistas and Malagueños at this time. Hopefully we’ll have a great response from the fans and see a wonderful atmosphere at La Rosaleda,” Lucas stated.

Moreover, the Club is joining forces with Maydan Málaga (Ukrainian Association of the Costa del Sol), represented today at the press conference by Maryana Kasiv. “It’s important to condemn what’s happening. It’s a massacre. Thank you for all the solidarity shown to us on the Costa del Sol,” Maryana said. The first joint initiative will take place tomorrow during #MálagaPonferradina. For every ticket sold €1 will go to Ukraine. Around 2,000 seats have already been sold, and we expect demand to increase as the kick-off time nears. Therefore, we appeal to our followers and fans to come to Martiricos.

In agreement with LaLiga, Málaga CF and SD Ponferradina come together under the slogan #STOPINVASION showing their outrage of this cruel and inhumane invasion. Tomorrow is not just another match. Malagueño, Malaguista, please come to La Rosaleda to see your team play and show solidarity with the Ukrainians. See you there.
