La ‘Rojita’ and Paula Fernández claim the silver with a taste of gold
The Blue and Whites’ midfielder has made history in national women’s football. Spain’s Under-20s narrowly missed out on the World Championship title after losing to Japan in the final (1-3).
Paula we’re so proud of you! We’ve got a U-20 World Championship runner-up in the Málaga CF Femenino dressing room!
Paula Fernández is part of a brilliant and very promising generation of Spanish women’s footballers. Together with her teammates, she took the name of our sport to the highest international level and took over the role for the majority of specialised press.
Spain’s U-20s defeated Paraguay, Nigeria, host team France and Japan, the latter in the group stage. It was precisely Japan that defeated the ‘Sefútbol’ in the grand final held on Friday in Vannes (1-3).
Paula, who is a regular fixture in the U-19 line-ups, debuted with the U-20s and enjoyed minutes in the victories against Japan (group stage) and Nigeria (quarter finals) as well as the definitive final.
Although the final result wasn’t what we all hoped for, Malaguismo is very proud of you Paula, having taken the name of our Club so far.
