Atlético Malagueño spectacularly defeated (4-1) Antequera CF to maintain the Third Division Group 9 top spot. Atlético Málaga were not in competition at the weekend.
The ‘Malaguista’ reserve team defeated Antequera by 4-1, despite the rival dominating play at the start of the game at the Federation ground. The visitors were the superior side in the first stages of play; organised at the back and domineering in midfield, they prevented Manel Ruano’s team from deploying their style. This was proven with a goal by Juanillo in minute 14’. Following the goal, Atlético Málagueño reacted and reversed the situation. The local side took control and gradually overcame the rival in their own half. Cassano, with a header in minute 34’, along with an impressive scissor kick by Luismi in minute 44’ gave the Blue and Whites a 2-1 lead at half-time.
The second half belonged to Malagueño. Following various opportunities, Ontiveros scored a fantastic goal from outside the area after 55 minutes, and a fourth from Mauri in minute 89’ inside the area sealed the 4-1 victory against Antequera. Another three points for Atlético Malagueño to keep the Third Division Group 9 leadership (50 points).
