Kilometre 27: What amazing fans!

La Rosaleda was like a pressure cooker, with the second-best crowd numbers of the season for #MálagaDépor. In the run-up to kick-off, the Blue and White fans gave the team a spectacular welcome.

The 0-0 draw at Martiricos yesterday between Málaga CF and RC Deportivo leaves us numerous highlights that we review here in our kilometre:

#MálagaTodosaUna

Impressive. Another lesson of Malaguismo from fans at La Rosaleda stadium. Before and during the match the fans didn’t stop cheering on the team, pushing them in every attack and helping them to defend every dangerous play from the rival. First-class supporters. Thank you, 22.414 times…

Support for Koné

The magnificent atmosphere in the Malaguista dressing room is no secret. Teammates and friends who form part of a family, in the good and bad times. It’s not an easy year for Mamadou Koné, who isn’t able to enjoy continuity due to injuries suffered over the season. The starting players against Dépor sent the African striker a message of support, wearing commemorative t-shirts with the slogan ‘Fuerza Koné’.

Munir is a wall

Chosen by fans on social media as Man of the Match, in particular for his superb point-blank save as Borja Valle attempted to put his team in front, the keeper from Melilla is having a brilliant season. MVP of LaLiga 1|2|3 in September, and in the running for the Zamora title of the category, the Moroccan international has played 24 league games and conceded 17 goals. An excellent average of 0.70 goals conceded per match.

Seven games without defeat

At times, in football, you can see the glass half full or half empty. However, accumulating seven matches without defeat in a category such as the Second Division, with just two goals conceded during this time, is quite remarkable. Three victories and four draws to win 13 out of a possible 21 points. Not bad at all.

Fourth position, two points from the top spot

The team’s trajectory in the competition distils regularity, consistency and solidity, which from the outset has been reflected in Málaga remaining in the top 5 places in the standings. The point earned against Deportivo, a direct rival at the top of the table, was point number 49 of the season. This means the team is just one point away from Albacete and Granada (50) and two from new leaders, Osasuna (51). Muñiz’s men are still in the running…
