Kilometre 14: First third completed successfully

The 2-0 victory at La Rosaleda against Nàstic served as the perfect epilogue to the first third of the tournament. Málaga CF continues on with a firm step in the extremely competitive Liga 1|2|3.

These are some of the highlights of #MálagaNástic last Saturday:

La Rosaleda, equal to victory

This Málaga continues to break historic records at their fortress in the league. Never before, as MCF, have there been seven consecutive victories at Martiricos. 21 points out of a possible 21, with 12 goals scored and only one conceded (penalty). 72.4% of the total number of points scored (29) at home. Overwhelming numbers.

A new midfield, assist and goal-scorer

Muñiz introduced six changes to the starting line-up, with four of them in the wide area. The usual double pivot was back, formed of N’Diaye and Adrián. The Senegalese player was exuberant, and the Madrid-born midfielder packed a punch to score the definitive 2-0. On the wings, Ontiveros was named MVP and Renato Santos was back in the starting line-up giving a superb assist to Koné in the 1-0.

Debutante ‘Haksa’

A special day for Sead Haksabanovic. The young Swede of Montenegrin origin, played the entire second half in place of injured Koné, located behind Blanco Leschuk. In his first official match wearing the Blue and White shirt, he showed skill, speed and good handling of the ball, with Ontiveros as the main partner in his actions. Neat.

Clean sheet, guarantee

Kieszek, in his third match in the starting-11 in LaLiga 1|2|3, barely had any work to do, and kept a clean sheet thanks to the help of the strong work in defence. At home, the visitor score has stayed at ‘0’ six times. Counting the ‘0’ in Almería, there have been seven out of 14 games in which no goals have been conceded. That is 50% in statistics. Solid.

A sensational first third

14 out of 42 matches, that is 33.3% of LaLiga 1|2|3 having now been played. Málaga CF, since the first match in Lugo (1-2), showed their credentials and in 13 out of 14 league games, the boys have been in direct promotion positions. Should they maintain this rhythm of scoring in the remaining two thirds of the competition, Muñiz’s men will finish in a very high position in the final standings.
