“It was a game of two halves as we all saw. In the first half, we were thankful for maintaining a 0-0 draw at half-time; and then in the second it was a pity that we missed a great opportunity. The draw was fair because of the way the game was played, and we must emphasise that we kept a clean sheet. Focusing on the positive aspects and following the same line for the next match is the way forward”.
Importance of earning points
“We never expected or believed we’d be in this situation, and we cannot deny that we’re playing with the same level of ease as if we had 45 points and were striving for other objectives. It was a direct duel which we didn’t want to lose, although we went to Leganés and did everything we could to win”.
Ten matches remaining
“There are 10 matches to go, and we can’t give priority to any one game. There are three points in play against Sporting, and three points in play against Atlético; I hope we can beat Atlético, and then we can focus on Sporting. Now it’s time to focus on Málaga, personal situations are of little importance. The collective is what brings us success or failure. Everyone forms part of the Club, we’re aware of the situation and need to find the solution to the problem”.
