Kameni: “Together we all turned the match around”

Carlos Kameni, Juanmi and Camacho all appeared in the mixed zone following tonight’s 2-1 victory over Sociedad Deportiva Eibar at La Rosaleda.

Kameni is not only thrilled with the victory, but the way in which it was achieved: “We knew it was going to be hard-fought against SD Eibar, who are particularly dangerous in away games, and always earn points.  We really gave our all from kick-off until the final whistle, and when we were 0-1 down we were aware it was going to be even more difficult.  However with determination to succeed and working together, we all turned the match around.”

The Cameroon-born goalkeeper doesn’t want to look at the Zamora classification, although Málaga CF is amongst the teams who have conceded the fewest goals in the BBVA League: “It is always a goalkeeper’s aim to not concede goals and help the team. With regards to the Zamora classification, I’m happy to be up there, but I’m not concentrating on that.  Not conceding goals is great, but it would be even better if we could win every game by 2-1.”

Juanmi: “The team isn’t going to relax”
The Coín-born striker, who scored the Blue and Whites’ first goal of the game, shows his satisfaction with tonight’s result, in La Rosaleda’s mixed zone: “I’m so pleased we won and the fact I scored, which is important to a striker.  We now need to continue along the same line and keep trying to do our best.  I train hard every day to earn a place in the line-up so I can support the team as much as I can.”

The team knew how difficult this match would be: “We knew it wasn’t going to be easy.  SD Eibar has many virtues, they work hard and are dangerous in set pieces.  Conceding a goal just before half-time wasn’t easy either.  However we reacted well, worked hard until the final whistle and were rewarded with another good result.”

The Blue and Whites have won five matches on the run and are now going for the sixth: “We’re having an incredible run of results.  Five consecutive victories is really important, but we’re not going to relax.  We need to keep working hard, with the same dynamic and continue our winning streak.”

Camacho: “This is a great time for us”
The Málaga CF midfielder appeared in the mixed zone before heading off to join Spain’s first team: “We need to focus on the present, and the reality is this is a great time for us and we must make the most of it.”

With regards to tonight’s victory: “We’ve gained another three important points in what was a demanding match for the entire 90 minutes.  We deserved to win tonight.  The team must now take full advantage of this winning streak, recharge our batteries and prepare for Atlético de Madrid, as we’ve got two testing games coming up.”
