Juanpi: “We knew we’d have to give our all against Barcelona”

Following the Málaga-Barcelona match, ‘Malaguista’ goal-scorer Juanpi Añor, Miguel Torres and Chory Castro appeared in the mixed zone at La Rosaleda.

Juanpi Añor

“We let the match escape because of two details that led to our defeat, but we knew we’d have to give our all against Barcelona, generating a great deal of goal chances in order to score.  We had to overcome the fact we conceded such an early goal and make the most of every opportunity we had.  It’s great that the fans are always behind us, and today they gave 100 per cent for the 90 minutes, for which we’re very grateful.”

Miguel Torres

“After conceding such an early goal, it’s not easy equalising.  I think the team worked very well, the fans enjoyed the game, but it’s a shame we lost the three points.  It has a greater impact against the bigger rivals, but we must congratulate the team for their attitude throughout the match.  Faced with an adverse result we have our own characteristics in order to create danger for the rival; the team deserved more today and I’m very happy for my teammates.  I wanted to play as soon as possible with my team, and it was great to return to the pitch for a match like this.  I felt good and I hope to feel even better.”

Chory Castro

“The team, despite losing today, is doing a good job.  If we continue like this, then we’ll achieve more victories than defeats.  We must be aware that both Sevilla and Barcelona were two very tough rivals against whom we could have done more.  However, now we must focus on Eibar, and if we stick with this attitude, I think we’ll achieve positive results.”
