Juanpi: “I work hard to earn a place in the starting-11”

The young Venezuelan player who grew up in Málaga CF’s youth academy comments: “I’ve been working hard throughout the pre-season to earn a place in the starting-11. I’ll keep fighting for a place to try and make it more difficult for the coach.”

Juanpi talks about last week’s visit to Benahavis: “We had a great few days in Benahavis.  The time allowed those of us here to train more, which is great for the group as a whole.  We’re really looking forward to the League break coming to an end and focusing this week on preparing for the match against Eibar.”

A match in which the Venezuelan affirms: “We’re going to go out with an aggressive approach.  We know they got off to a good start.  Last season we struggled to win at home and they defeated us at their ground, so we know Sunday’s game will be very difficult.  We must stay aggressive and pile the pressure on, dominate play and if we do things right we could claim the three points.”

A win at the weekend would be the team’s first of the season: “We’re really keen to clinch our first victory but I’m just getting started.  We’ve had two tough matches so far against some of the best teams in the League and we held our own.  I’m certain we’ll be able to earn our first three points this week which will reassure us.”
