The Malaguistas haven’t enjoyed this tournament since 2017. “It’s a Málaga derby and an important trophy, which is back after so many years. People want the trophy back and to see their team at La Rosaleda. We want to play a good match,” said Dioni, who on an individual level affirms that “it’s a special day. Making my debut at La Rosaleda with our fans... “I'm really looking forward to it,” commented the striker.
“It’s an honour for us to play against Antequera, a team from Málaga. We know the enthusiasm they have, just like us. There’ll be a lot of rivalry on the pitch, as expected, but that's the beauty of football. It will be an intense match for both teams. We’ll try to enjoy ourselves and also ensure the fans do too,” said Juande.
Dioni and Juande commented that they are forming a good group. “The stage has helped us to form a group, we’ve got to know each other a lot more,” they said. In addition, both see the younger players full of enthusiasm and with the ability to contribute: “I see the young guys with the desire and level to stay here. I hope they can prove themselves. They have surprised me. They're going to bring a lot.”
