“I think we deserved, after nine matches, a comfortable victory. Up until now, we’ve had to affront all our games with a disadvantage on the scoreboard, which created a great deal of tension. The first good thing today is that we didn’t concede a goal. This allowed us to go on to win the match with a certain degree of comfort, knowing we were up against a team who has been performing very well away from home.”
Kuzmanovic’s injury
“With regards to Kuzmanovic, his injury resurfaced. We knew we were taking a risk, but the absences meant we had to. We’ll see what the medics have to say as to how long he’ll be out of action.”
Resounding victory
“The most positive aspect of this match is that we achieved such a resounding victory, which gives us security and confidence. The negative aspect is that another player is in the infirmary. We’ll have to wait and see which players we can regain for Sunday. Juanpi will be able to play following suspension, and hopefully we’ll see the return of some of the injured players. We’re in a difficult situation as there are many important members of the team who are currently unable to play.”
Team line-up
“I based the line-up focused on how we could counteract the rival’s strengths. The lack of players determined the selection a great deal. We opted for fast players like Jony, to look for a diagonal and so we could generate goal opportunities. Pablo, who is very resistant, works very well and can act as both a pivot and a playmaker. Chory has a lot of experience and helps immensely in games. I think, in general, we played a magnificent match, and the team reaped the rewards.”
Comfortable win and a clean sheet
“Both factors are positive. Not conceding a goal gives us security, keeps the team calm and avoids anxiety, not having to come from behind. A lot can happen in 90 minutes, and we were able to score four goals today. We put on a good attacking display.”
