The day dawned with black clouds, but the goals and the fans brightened the sky over La Rosaleda on the stadium’s birthday.  As with every good party, there was birthday cake, courtesy of Obrador de Confitería Tejeros- with over 10,000 slices shared amongst the fans as they entered the stadium.

Afterwards we focused on the team of grandparents representing the 75 years of the Martiricos coliseum.  A memorable photo was taken with Antonio Benítez, Ben Barek, Lourdes Alonso – the little girl who took the kick of honour at the stadium’s inauguration - , Santiago Aragón, Bernardi, Andrés Perales, Carmen Virtudes, Antonio Guadamuro, Álvaro Sánchez de la Vega, Enrique Guerado and Alfonso Queipo de Llano.

Lastly, the most spontaneous and beautiful tribute was by the fans: at around minute 70, the Malaguistas took out their mobile phones, and the stadium was dotted with tiny lights as they chanted ‘Happy Birthday’.  A party from start to finish, in which the players scored four goals to round off a great evening at La Rosaleda.
