Jozabed: “We’re disappointed, this is down to us”
The Malaguista midfielder held a press conference after the game against Albacete Balompié. “At times likes this we have to stay calm and recognise our mistakes. The only way forward is to keep working hard,” said the Blue and White number ‘19’.
Jozabed attributed the result to “a fragile defence. When you’re 0-2 down after six minutes and you lose at home, it’s hard to overcome. In the second half we had numerous chances to go level. We tried but it wasn’t to be,” said the player from Sevilla.
At the beginning of his press conference, Jozabed thanked the fans as “there was a very good crowd considering it was 30 degrees. They’re giving their all and are excited for the season, yet up to now we’ve been failing,” he said about the more than 18,000 fans at La Rosaleda this afternoon.
Despite the result, the Malaguista player believes they did enough to have been able to turn the initial result around. “In the second half we had enough chances to go level, three very clear opportunities. However, luck hasn’t been on our side. We started off badly, but in the second half we had plenty of chances,” he added.
In regard to how the team is doing, Jozabed commented: “We’re disappointed, this is down to us. This isn’t what we wanted, we must be aware of that. We have to stay as calm as possible, we’re only on matchday 4. At times likes this we have to stay calm and recognise our mistakes. The only way forward is to keep working hard every day. We know where we are, this is down to all of us, not just the coach. We all make mistakes and have to take responsibility. We trust in our daily training,” he concluded.
